What started out as a small mom-and-pop eatery is now on every travelers’ Bali bucket list. Bebek Bengil, which literally translates from Indonesian to “dirty duck”, serves hordes of diners in search of the Bali’s most famous dish….crispy duck!
This legendary restaurant is known as Bali’s first crispy duck establishment and the signature dish is, in a word, delectable. Dirty Duck has a large open-air dining area and several Balinese bales, which are tiny pavilions overlooking the emerald rice fields. Here, there are low tables and large cushions, perfect for lounging around with the family. Although the menu pays homage to Bali’s duck delicacy, there are many other Indonesian dishes to choose from.
Dirty Duck has been so successful that they now have branches in Nusa Dua and Jakarta. Pick one and get there early so you don’t have to wait for a table!
Kids can eat with their hands because it's finger licking good!
Hungry travelers, carnivorous kids and ladies who lunch.
We highly recommend going off-hours and sitting in one of the pavilions near the rice fields instead of in the oversized dining room. Also, if you want to try the Balinese smoked duck, make sure to order one day in advance.
