Eat, pray, love…we all know the drill! Balinese healers have moved into the limelight as the must-do experience on many travelers’ itineraries. Known as Dukun or Balian, they often operate out of their homes and incorporate meditation, medicine, massage into their spiritual practice of helping others heal inside and out!
While there are too many fabulous ones to note in this short post, here are a few to visit! Enjoy…
Ketut Liyer
A gentle old man made famous as a character in the book and movie Eat, Pray, Love with Juliet Roberts.
Five Elements
This fabulous spa offers healing therapies, meditation, consultations, and more. Plus, there are therapies the kids can enjoy too!
Yanto In Ubud
They call him “Dr. Feel Good”, and he is focused on helping those with physical pain….feel better.
Tjokorda Gde Rai
One of Bali’s famous master healers and fountain of traditional knowledge and wisdom. While the assessments might be painful (probing ears and shoulders, pushing a twig between your toes), this healer knows his stuff! Come stressed and leave feeling free.
Holistic Healing at The Yoga Barn
Yoga Barn offers various therapies of healing, including Naturopathy, Craniosacral Therapy, Esalen Massage, Reiki, Astrology, Sound Therapy, Detoxification, Cleansing & Colon Hydrotherapy and more.
We all need a little healing in our lives! Plus, it is a cultural experience for the whole family.
Anyone looking to learn a little something about themselves or others (pregnant - boy or girl perhaps?).
Looking for more? Healers are very important in each individual Balinese village. You can always ask around for the local village healer and how to arrange a visit with him/her.
