Learn with art and nature. It is the philosophy that Alam Atelier carries in order to achieve an optimal way for children to grow and learn. Alam Atelier is not only a nature-based school, but also a Reggio-inspired one which bring up experiential learning in relationship-driven environments. These two make a powerful combination that is child-centered and grounded on the lessons that the earth has to offer. Children are encouraged to explore possibilities, take risks, move around, make decisions, take charge, collaborate, engage and evaluate.
Alam Atelier offers classes in:
*) Little Acorns and Early Bloomers (Infants and Toddlers) for aged 6 – 30 months
*) Snowflakes and Spring Dew (Nursery 1 and 2) for aged 2 – 4 years
*) Sunbursts and Mighty Oaks (Kindergarten 1 and 2) for aged 4 – 6 years
School’s highlights:
*) Environment
Placed in a lush field in Canggu, Alam Atelier’s open setting classroom motivates the children and teachers to decide the flow of the day. The indoor and outdoor possibilities allow students to form a deeper appreciation for nature. Water play, mud pools, seedbeds and woodworking are some of the activities that will sharpen the tots’ learning senses.
*) Art
Alam Atelier believes that children are naturally creative. Students can choose between visual arts (painting, sculptures, printmaking, crafts), performance art, multimedia, conceptual art, mixed media, or even fashion.
*) Language
Alam Atelier realizes that children growing up in Bali are mostly already bilingual. Children are exposed to a lot of verbal exchanges and communication, either in English or in Bahasa Indonesia, as well as the local Balinese dialect. There are Indonesian teachers to assist students with local language, and for those who are learning to speak English, Kindermusik English & Me program uses music and movement as an effective way of communicating.
