Take a journey with them in their guide to Tabanan…a perfect escape for babes, tots, and teens. Enjoy!
For families looking to play together, there is plenty to do around the villa! Check out these top picks for the young to the old, handpicked by Villa Zolima. Of course, they can help arrange a car and guide for any of the below...just ask!
1. NATURE: Pack up and head to Bali Butterfly Park to learn fun facts about these winged wonders. While small in size, this well-maintained centre is always a hit with the little ones complete with some rather spectacular species on show.
2. TEMPLES: The favorite temple in the area is Pura Luhur Batukaru (Batukaru Temple), near Wongayagede village. One of Bali's key directional temples and a site of pilgrimage for Hindu Balinese, it has been majestically situated on the slopes of Mount Batukaru since the 11th century. Keep in mind that this is a very sacred site and all visitors should abide by the temples rules posted at the entrance. After exploring the mystical temple, go to lunch at the restaurant in the small lodge, Prana Dewi, just a few minutes before the temple. You will find refreshing sips, organic rice, plus fruits and vegetables grown from their garden. Yum!
3. RAIN FOREST: Visit a rain forest! This one-day trip is always a fave for exploring the untamed natural beauty of this mountainous region and the Batukaru Rainforest. If you prefer to take it up a notch, 3-7 hour treks can be arranged. Plan on discovering unusual flowers, beautiful trees, mysterious yummy fruits, and with patience monkeys and other little furry animals. For lunch, enjoy delicious organic food served at the award-wining Eco Lodge. It sits on the slopes of Mount Batukaru offering a message of natural beauty and sustainability.
4. ADVENTURE PARK: For a bit of spice and thrills, head an hour away from your villa to Bali Tree Top Adventure Park in Bedugul! On the way, pick delicious fruits from fruit stalls on the road arriving directly from the farms and cheaper than the market.
Older kids need older activities! Villa Zolima has scoped out the most popular activities for your pre-teens and teens to enjoy the beach, the local grub, and the countryside.
1. SURF: Head to the beaches! For the older kiddos, there is plenty to do Balian beach, located only 5 minutes from Villa Zolima by car. This top surfing spot offers all the waves you need for both experienced and non-experienced surfers without the crowds. Grub out at one of the many welcoming and charming little "warungs" (local - or local style small cafés /restaurants) by the beach with a guaranteed surfer crowd mix of locals and internationals.
2. HIT THE ROAD: Rent a motorbike and head to the country side for views of rice fields and palm forests. Cruise along to Balian beach or further to Menjan for a touch of black sandy views. Villa Zolima can also organize amazing bicycle rides on the slope of the Batukaru mountain.
