Like most kid-centric rec centres, Blue Bear Bali focuses on getting kids off the iPads and out to play, however, this kids zone comes with an environmental conscience. Sure, there are some fantastic activity parks popping up around the island but few, if any are open to exchanging your trash for an entry ticket!
In an effort to educate and incentivize youth to be globally aware and active eco-warriors, Blue Bear asks skaters to bring along 10 pieces of trash and place it in the clearly labeled waste stations in exchange for a green wristband and 2-hour ticket to ride! No trash? No problem, just pay the minimal IDR 30,000 for park entry instead!
Blue Bear is a purpose-built recreation center in Ubud combining a skate park, fully supervised play area so mum & dad can enjoy a little ‘me time’, KULT bar and cafe featuring a fusion of local and Italian flavors and a stage set for live music! The striking bamboo structure, a centerpiece of the park, is made entirely from environmentally sustainable items. The skate park welcomes kids of all abilities from ages 4 upwards (4-6-year-olds must be accompanied by an adult) with resident instructors available to teach gnarly new tricks and turns. Bring your own gear or hire it at the park but helmets are a must and knee and shin pads strongly suggested for skaters under 17.
Not just a center to drop the kids off to play, Blue Bear was built with the whole clan in mind! This family-friendly play park is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10am to 8pm.
