We know we’re late to the party, but we finally tried the delicious TruffleBAKERY in Hong Kong! The popular Japanese bakery chain opened its first overseas store in Causeway Bay on December 15, 2024, and it’s been creating quite a buzz ever since.
Located on the ground floor of The Hedon, just behind Times Square, TruffleBAKERY’s two-story flagship store offers a mouthwatering array of freshly baked goods. The star of the show is undoubtedly their signature white truffle salt bread, which sells a staggering 20,000 pieces daily in Japan. Made with homemade truffle butter, Italian white truffle oil, and premium French truffle salt, this famous treat is crispy on the outside yet soft and pillowy on the inside. At just HK$23 per piece, it’s an affordable luxury that’s hard to resist.
In addition to their famous white truffle salt bread, TruffleBAKERY has introduced two Hong Kong-exclusive flavors to celebrate their debut in the city. The chocolate truffle salt bread (HK$27) is a decadent creation made with Japanese flour, 60% French dark chocolate, and a smooth filling of dark chocolate whipped cream, topped with a hint of truffle sea salt. For those who prefer a more unique flavor profile, the osmanthus oolong and fig sourdough (HK$78 for a whole loaf) is a must-try.
Other popular items include the black truffle egg sandwich (HK$39), a light and fluffy donut (HK$19), and the cardamom bun (HK$23). The bakery also offers a selection of hot and iced coffees to complement pastry choices.
If you’re planning a visit, be prepared for a bit of a wait, especially during peak hours. There’s almost always a queue, but trust us, it’s worth it. The line tends to move quickly!
Soft opening hours: open every day from 10:00am – 8:00pm (subject to change, check their social media for the latest information)
Whether you’re a truffle enthusiast or simply curious about the latest food trend in Hong Kong, TruffleBAKERY is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to bring your patience along with your appetite – good things come to those who wait!
Bread and pastry enthusiasts, as well as people who love following the latest trends (us!)!
To ensure fairness and give everyone a chance to sample their delectable offerings, TruffleBAKERY has implemented a purchase limit of 5 pieces of bread per customer, with a maximum of 1 piece for each type. This policy helps manage the high demand and allows more people to experience the bakery’s unique flavors.
