Head over to the Ocean Terminal Deck in TST this Hong Kong Arts Month, specifically between the 13th of March to 23rd of April to admire French artist JR’s first “GIANTS” monumental artwork in Asia. Incorporating Hong Kong’s traditional bamboo scaffolding, this 12×12 meter art installation depicts a high jumper appearing to jump off the ground and enjoying the sensation of free fall. In his own words, JR shares that this “is an invitation to take off, to achieve more, in reference to the GIANTS installation at the 2016 Rio Olympics”. For more information click here.
JR is notably known for his oversized black and white installations and optical illusion art pieces which he has exhibited in public spaces like the Musée du Louvre and the Panthéon in Paris, Palazzo Farnese in Rome, Pyramid of Khafre in Giza, and so on. To see more of his famous works click here.
