If we judged a sea shell solely by its clammy suit, there would be no pearl necklaces. Though a suit does not, in fact, make the (wo)man, Women in Finance Asia recognized the inevitability and severity of the stereotype and all that comes with it and decided to take action to let the less privileged Hongkongers shine!
Since 2014, their initiative Suits for Success has been annually providing an outlet for members of society to give their gently worn professional clothing and accessories new life by donating them at numerous locations in Hong Kong to those in need of suiting up. In 2017 only, 51 corporate partners and 101 volunteers helped collect and distribute 3000 kg of clothing. Visit the initiative’s website to find out more about their mission and ways in which you yourself can help those who are just one suit away from being granted an opportunity for a better shot at life!
Donation of men’s and women’s professional clothing and accessories.
February 12 to March 8, 2018.
