Operating on an Australian school year (late January to mid December), AISHK facilitates a seamless transition for those students entering from, or returning to, Australian or Southern Hemisphere schools or tertiary institutions.
Primary
AISHK Primary division is a vibrant, exciting, caring community where students learn, laugh, play and explore the world around them. It is a welcoming environment where friendships can flourish and personalities develop. Their strong academic curriculum is based on the Australian National Curriculum and has been adapted to suit their international setting.
Secondary
The curriculum in the Middle Secondary builds on the skills and knowledge introduced in previous years. The program continues to use an integrated design, which builds the foundation for the external examinations undertaken in Year 12. In Years 11 and 12, Senior Secondary, students may chose to study courses offered in either the Higher School Certificate or the IB Diploma.
Support Services
In addition to AISHK’s comprehensive Australian Primary and Secondary curricula, we offer a variety of support services that extend the value of the world class education we provide here at the school. These include a Learning Enrichment Centre, a counselling service and a career guidance service.
Extra Curricular Activities
Extra Curricular Activities (ECAs) are sport and non-sporting pursuits available to AISHK students over and above the regular school curriculum. These activities are organized and led by teachers and support staff with assistance from parents and external coordinators and take place outside the normal school timetable. Extra Curricular Activities are divided into the following categories:
• Sport
• The Arts
• Academic Activities
• Community Activities
Sport
There are few things that instill self-confidence, pride and a sense of belonging more in a student than having the opportunity to represent his or her school in a sports competition. At AISHK, students compete as representatives of the school with honour and commitment – values which not only serve them well on the field of play and in the heat of competition, but also in life.
