LITTLE STEPS REVIEW: Capturing Amazing Family Photos With Venture Studios Hong Kong

Preparation Pre-Photoshoot

There was plenty of thought that went into our shoot and what we were looking for. Once it was confirmed, the studio called to find out if there was any milestone we were celebrating. They also wanted to know if we had anything specific in mind, what my kids were interested in, and possible themes.

A few days before the shoot, I got a call from the photographer to talk through outfits, color choices and props to bring, so I had a very clear idea of what to pack!

We chose two looks for the family, one white and denim and one more soft colours, then a sports focus for my kids: tennis and gymnastics for my daughter, then cricket and jiu jitsu for my son.

The preparation continued on the day of the shoot, as we went through their ‘best of’ book to bookmark the styles and images we liked so the photographer could take pictures accordingly.

A Fun, Fast-Moving Shoot

When you arrive at the studio's reception you're greeted with the most beautiful and striking photographs as wall art, and you know you're in for something special!

The studio space itself is very comfortable. It also has a changing room, so you can easily change into different outfits before your close-up!

What I loved about the shoot was that it didn’t feel posed at all. Instead of stiff smiles, they captured us in our natural element as a family, enjoying our time together and laughing.

Our photographer was amazing. She made us feel completely at ease, and we had no idea where the time flew! The kids were so engaged and she had lots of tricks up her sleeve to make sure they were constantly moving, so they didn't get bored of posing.

At the end of the shoot, they were both disappointed that it was over (and that's saying a lot given that my son usually hates having his photo taken!).

We focused on some casual family photos, some pairs, and then the kids' sporting activities.

An Emotional Viewing Session

The fun doesn't end once the photoshoot is over, as there's a cinema session to view all your photos, with a specially created slideshow of the images (cue the tears!).

I was blown away when I saw the photos. They captured us so well, and you could see the genuine joy on our faces.
