Often overlooked, the Hong Kong Museum of History is worth a visit! This museum has been around since 1975, building up an impressive collection of all things Hong Kong.
The highlights:
* Natural History: A forest with sky-high trees. Animal-loving kids will want to find all of the hidden animals and plants from the map provided.
* Prehistoric Hong Kong: Lifelike scenes of prehistoric families. Kids will be fascinated to learn about the simple ways people lived and the tools they used.
* Local History: 8 realistic shops from the early 1900’s, plus a double-decker tram – all animated by sound.
* Folk Culture: A life-size replica of a fishing junk to walk on, towering bun mountains, Cantonese opera, lion dance displays and much more!
You could spend anywhere from an hour to three hours here, depending on the age of your chlidren. The Museum of History is huge, so plan to focus on the highlights!
