An attraction that’s free and right in the heart of KL? We love it! KLCC Park located just outside the popular Petronas Twin Towers and Suria KLCC Shopping Center is a fantastic place to bring your toddlers for a day out in the sun. Come in the early mornings or late evenings to avoid the scorching sun, and be sure to pack some sunblock, hat, and swimming attire. First, explore the two-acre children’s playground, then take a dip in the wading pool, and dry off by taking a stroll along the footpaths. The park is open daily from 7am to 10pm.

Home to 476 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish, Zoo Negara or the National Zoo is a great place to introduce your little ones to the animal kingdom. Located about 5km from the city center, you'll find creatures like pandas, orangutans, elephants, giraffes, lions, tigers and more here. It's bound to be a fun day out, just make sure to pack an umbrella or hat, portable fan, stroller (for the little ones), some snacks, and plenty of water.

Located within walking distance from the Petronas Twin Towers, Aquaria KLCC is a state-of-the-art oceanarium showcasing over 5,000 different exhibits of aquatic and land-bound creatures over 60,000 square-foot of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Meet underwater creatures like Sand Tiger sharks, Giant Stingrays, marine turtles, fishes, and more. Open daily, visiting hours are from 10am to 8pm.

Located within the Perdana Botanical Garden is the KL Bird Park, a short 10 minutes drive from the KL City Center. This is where you can get tiny tots to learn all about their feathered friends as there are more than 3,000 birds of approximately 200 species that includes local and foreign birds. The KL Bird Park is also well known as 'World's Largest Free-Flight Walk-in Aviary'.

A sanctuary for butterflies, Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park is a place not to be missed when it comes to introducing nature to your little ones. Touting itself as the largest butterfly garden in the world spanning over 80,000 sq ft of landscaped garden, you'll find over 5,000 live butterflies, exotic plants, butterfly-host plants, and ferns, as well as attractions like Japanese koi fish, freshwater turtles, live insects and a museum with a large collection of butterflies and insects from around the world. The park is open from Fridays to Sundays from 9am to 4.30pm.

Formerly known as Taman Tasik Perdana or Lake Gardens, the Perdana Botanical Garden is situated in the Heritage Park of Kuala Lumpur. The garden located in the center of KL, and closes to other attractions like the KL Butterfly Park and KL Bird Park boasts a number of attractions including a Hibiscus Garden, Sunken Garden, Herbarium, Deer Park, Heliconia Garden, fish pond, playground, walking trails and more. Shuttle trams are available daily to take you around the park at a fee of RM6 for adults and RM2 for children. The garden is open daily from 7am to 8pm.

Science and technology can be lots of fun at the National Science Center or Pusat Sains Negara in Bukit Kiara. A fascinating place to explore, kids get to experiment and get hands-on with the interactive displays, they'll easily spend a good hour or two wandering around the place. There are themed exhibits featuring dinosaurs, Science displays, kids' play area, live sessions, workshops, and more. While you're there, check out the outdoor exhibits like the eye-catching pre-historic garden featuring life-sized dinosaur replicas, a water plaza where kids can have a splashing time, a herb garden, and an interactive play zone.

Spread out over 25-acres, i-City Leisure in Shah Alam consists of four precincts, namely City of Digital Lights featuring outdoor park rides like ferris wheel, bumper cars and more, and over 1 million LEDs lightscape; Snowalk, a 50, 000 square feet arctic setting maintained below 5 degree Celcius; WaterWorld, a water theme park; and FunWorld, featuring family-oriented activities and games, as well as Malaysia's first interactive wax museum, The Red Carpet, and Malaysia's first Trick Art Museum. Fun, loud and a riot of colors, Berjaya Times Square Theme Park is an indoor theme park offering thrilling rides and games for the whole family.
