If you’re looking forward to a fun weekend in Macau then we’ve got the lowdown on the best way to get there. The most direct way to get to Macau is by ferry, it’s the quickest and easiest. Embark at either Shun Tak Center in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island and from the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) in Kowloon. The services from Sheung Wan are a little more frequent.
The Turbojet runs services to downtown Macau where most of the hotels, restaurants and Portuguese areas. The Cotajet runs services to the Cotai Strip where there are shuttles to the Venetian and Sands Cotai.
From Sheung Wan to downtown Macau the ferry runs every fifteen minutes from 7am until 23:59pm. From TST to downtown Macau the ferry runs every thirty minutes from 7am until 22:30pm. From Sheung Wan to Cotai the ferry runs every thirty minutes from 7am until 23:30pm. From Kowloon to Cotai there are only a few sailings, through the morning until 13:15. The journey time is 60-75 minutes depending on the sea and whether you travel on a ferry or catamaran.
The ferry costs between HK$160-200. Check websites for promo fares. Many hotels will offer discounts or free travel depending on your booking.
