Nature lovers delight! In the far Northeast of Singapore is The Punggol Promenade and Lorong Halus Wetland area, just waiting to be explored. This is a great outing with kids to walk, scoot, take in nature, and spot wildlife…and it’s free! Highlights are below:
Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk: There’s a dedicated bike track and jogging track perfect for scooters, plus look out points so you can get close to the water’s edge. Part of the longer promenade, the 2.4km nature walk is a rustic path that allows families to enjoy the natural setting of the river banks with plenty of rest shelters along the way.
Lorong Halus Wetland: From the Punggol Promenade Riverside Walk, take the pedestrian bridge across the Seangoon Reservoir to Lorong Halus Wetland. This former landfill area has been transformed into an eco-friendly wetland, a wildlife habitat and educational site. Learn about water sustainability at the ABC Waters Learning Trail as well as the history, rich biodiversity and flora and fauna of the area.
Ah, the serenity…
No crowds, no queues, no noise and no cost!
Nature-lovers, anyone looking for a change of scenery.
The Nature Society of Singapore (NSS) conducts nature walks and bird watching to the public every quarter.
