Convert your trash into treasure! Stop by one of the Recycle N Save Reverse Vending Machines (RVMs) located throughout Singapore, and recycle your old plastic drink bottles and aluminium cans for rewards! Brought to us by Fraser & Neave (F&N) Foods and the National Environment Agency (NEA), the Recycle N Save initiative makes it simple, convenient, and beneficial for us to recycle our old plastic bottles and aluminum cans.
How it works is pretty simple. Collect your old drink bottles/cans and visit one of the 50 RVMs around the island. Follow the instructions on how to insert your recyclables, and use the touch screen to select your desired reward. There are two different types of RVMs found throughout the island: a single reward and a multi reward machine. A single reward RVM requires you to deposit 20 items for which you will receive a 20c discount voucher for NTUC Fairprice. While a multi reward RVM requires you to deposit 10 items and you can choose from either free rides with bike-sharing firm Anywheel, ActiveSG credit, CapitaLand malls reward points, or Sentosa Fun Pass tokens. This is a fun, unique, and rewarding way to teach the kids the importance of recycling!
Not only do we feel great that we can do something to help the environment (by recycling), we can earn rewards for our efforts at the same time!
The whole family.
Not every plastic and aluminum can or bottle can be recycled. Note they must be empty drink containers that have a barcode so that they can be scanned and sorted by the machine.
