Brighton College's English Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum establishes rigorous standards for the learning, development, and care of children in Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception classrooms. The curriculum encompasses seven key areas of learning, including Communication and Language, Physical Development, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World, and Expressive Arts and Design. The dynamic pedagogy allows for flexible daily adjustments based on children's focus and teacher targets. Continuous assessment towards Early Learning Goals (ELGs) occurs daily, encompassing both Mandarin and English in the Dual Language Programme.
Tailored for children aged 18 months to 5 years, the Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception Curriculum is delivered by specialized Early Years Teachers and Learning Assistants. While specialists in Art, Computing, Music, PE, Dance, and Swimming enrich the curriculum, the transition from Reception to Year 1 is seamlessly facilitated within the Early Learning Village, ensuring familiarity and readiness for the Pre-Prep School.
