Singapore is set to welcome a game-changing arts and culture destination with the opening of IMBA Theatre in December 2025. Nestled in Gardens by the Bay’s West Lawn, this state-of-the-art venue merges technology, art, and storytelling to create a world where audiences can engage with creativity in extraordinary ways. Conceptualized by homegrown edutainment group Hustle & Bustle (H&B), IMBA Theatre will be a year-round hub for immersive exhibitions, live performances, and multi-experiential events, redefining how people experience art and culture in Singapore.
Spanning over 20,000 square feet, IMBA Theatre will feature Southeast Asia’s tallest 12.5-meter projection wall, offering a black box theatre designed for immersive exhibitions and large-scale multimedia showcases. The venue will also house a 12,500-square-foot gallery space dedicated to traditional and mixed media exhibitions. Visitors can expect thoughtfully curated retail and dining experiences that complement the venue’s immersive environment, celebrating creativity and innovation.
IMBA Theatre will debut with The Botero Show in Singapore, a grand immersive experience showcasing the paintings and drawings of renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Known for his signature corpulent figures, Botero’s monumental sculptures will be displayed across both indoor and outdoor spaces, offering a visually spectacular experience.
In a nod to Singapore’s artistic heritage, IMBA Theatre will also spotlight the Nanyang style, an art movement blending Chinese and Western techniques to depict Southeast Asian themes. Featured artists will include pioneers like Cheong Soo Pieng, Lim Tze Peng, Chen Wen Hsi, and Georgette Chen. Additionally, audiences can look forward to a showcase by self-taught muralist Yip Yew Chong, famous for his nostalgic depictions of Singapore’s past.
IMBA Theatre aims to serve as a dynamic platform for cultural exchange and artistic collaboration. Partnering with London-based Lightroom, a leader in immersive storytelling, the theatre will host a lineup of world-class experiences. As part of its commitment to fostering future creative talent, IMBA will collaborate with Nanyang Polytechnic’s School of Design & Media to develop innovative global and local content for the theatre.
Singapore’s first large-scale immersive arts venue brings together cutting-edge technology, creativity, and storytelling in one dynamic space.
Art lovers, families, and experience-seekers looking for an innovative way to engage with culture and creativity.
IMBA Theatre will feature immersive exhibitions, live performances, and curated retail and dining experiences in a breathtaking setting at Gardens by the Bay.
