With the school holidays approaching, there’s no better time to get the whole family up and out for some activities. And what better way to bond than by pushing boundaries and tackling challenging obstacle courses? Here’s our rundown of where to begin searching for your next great family adventure!
Singapore’s latest big player in the outdoor adventure scene is undoubtedly AJ Hackett at Sentosa. Boasting the very first bungy experience, visitors will either cower in fear or get pumped up at the sight of the high-adrenaline thrills. If young ones aren’t prepared yet for a full bungy, opt to start with the Sky Bridge to help them overcome their fear of heights by crossing a suspended bridge 47m above ground together.

Let your kids unleash their inner Tarzan or Mowgli at Bedok Reservoir’s Forest Adventure! The expansive site features bridges, swings and rope ladders aplenty, to fully soak visitors in the full jungle atmosphere. While most courses are appropriate for all ages, there’s also a designated children’s course for them to tackle themselves and build their self-confidence. With some encouragement and guidance, your kid will be zipping through every obstacle in no time!

Outdoor adventure courses might not be suitable for the younger ones – so thankfully there’s an indoor option at Downtown East. The indoor playground park has a range of different surprises in store, from the multi-obstacle Mega Play area to the immersive Ball Pool. Once they’ve accustomed to those, take them over to the Adventure Highlands, where both kids and adults can put their balancing skills to the test and take on the rope course.

For a day of fun with various challenges, Mega Adventure Park at Sentosa is where it’s at. Be spoilt for choice from five different activities – MegaClimb, MegaZip, MegaBounce, MegaWall and MegaJump – each presenting their own unique appeal. For all members to participate, the MegaZip lets you race each other through the air to see who reaches the end point first, while the MegaBounce is perfect for the younger crowd to see how high they can go.

To beat the heat and still get a sense of endless adventure, take the family to Let ‘Em Play. The indoor and air-conditioned obstacle course will have everyone occupied for hours on end, considering that there is a total of 17 courses to complete, including “spiderweb” nets, balance beams, and an interactive bouldering wall. To top the experience off, each course is painted in different colours, which makes for picturesque snapshot memories too!

Another indoor adventure playground is X-Park, located in the heart of Orchard Road at Cathay Cineleisure as part of the trampoline attraction Bounce Inc. The interactive space takes after the popular television show Ninja Warrior, complete with trampoline, balance beams and towering walls. With obstacles that will stretch limits of enthusiasts young and old, you and your whole family will be guaranteed smiles while simultaneously getting a well-deserved workout.

A day filled with fun doesn’t get much better than at SAFRA’s Adventure Sports Centre, located at their Yishun branch. While the indoor and outdoor climbing walls might instantly draw attention, shift your focus to the thrilling Canopy Sky Walk that will have challengers confronting their fear of heights together. Want more people involved? You can even also throw an adventure-themed birthday party with three packages to choose from.

Don’t let the heat dampen you and your family’s thirst for thrills. The Wet Maze at Adventure Cove promises to cool you off while taking everyone on a wild ride through water buckets and spray jets. To amp up the situation, head to the rope course above ground where both adults and children can challenge each other to see who completes the rope swings and balance beams first!
