Surrounded by lush greenery like trees to mangroves, MacRitchie Reservoir is a great location for kayaking. Paddle Lodge, operated by the Singapore Canoe Federation, has single kayaks for 12-year-olds and above, while double kayaks are available for 7-year-olds and older – both at SG$15/hour. While paddling out at the reservoir, you might even feel like you’re overseas.

Lower Seletar Reservoir is another place near Yishun where you can rent kayaks and row out to calm waters. Managed by Camelot, the kayaks are ideal for couples or parent and child duos, since a kayak only costs SG$24 for 2 pax for 2 hours, making it super value for money. Try spotting wildlife in the waters and the sky too, like kingfishers, fishes, and snails!

Combine two activities into one with Kayak Fishing Fever, where you’ll both kayak and fish around Sentosa and its neighboring islands. Beginners can join The Playground at a weekday promo price of SG$129 per person to learn more about the basics of both activities through a 2-4km route led by a guide. Fishes to catch include groupers, snappers and parrotfish – kids from 7 years old can join in the activity as well!

Whether you’re looking to kayak in the open waters near Singapore’s skyline in the central area, or a more serene spot near your neighborhood, you’ll be able to find a location thanks to Passion Wave kayak rentals. Available at spots such as Marina Bay and Pasir Ris Park, rental rates start affordably from only SG$9.80 for 2 hours. Slots are limited, so book early online!

With all that rowing and balancing out at sea, you and the kiddos are bound to get hungry during your kayaking session. Not to worry, since Ola Beach Club has a SG$42/person package that includes the activity along with food and drinks so you can refuel and recharge. The menu includes kid-friendly chicken or beef burger and a soft drink. Do take note that only kids aged 7 and above are allowed for kayaking.

What better way to explore Singapore’s gorgeous Southern Islands than paddling around the waters yourself? Singapore Sports Hub is home to all sorts of sports, and over at the Water Sports Centre, adults and kids aged 7 and above can spend a day out at the Kallang Basin waters. Slots are in 2-hour blocks starting from 7:30am to 6:30pm, so you can opt for an early morning workout or a casual evening row. Keep your eyes peeled and you might even spot otters around the shore!

Bask in the vast ocean at Admiralty with X’treme Kayaking, run by SAF Yacht Club. While they focus on 1 and 2-star courses for serious kayakers, they also have rental services for those interested to try the sport out.
