Spanning approximately 2.2km in length, Changi Point Coastal Walk is an easy walking trail suitable for kids and boasts of breathtaking views of the eastern coast. Also referred to as the Changi Boardwalk, this scenic walk has been divided into 6 sections (although the walk is entirely seamless without you knowing which section you’re in) namely Creek Walk, Beach Walk, Sailing Point Walk, Cliff Walk, Kelong Walk (a ‘kelong’ being a fishing structure built on stilts over the water), and Sunset Walk. Start your journey along Creek Walk where you get views of the jetty and many bumboats bringing passengers to the nearby island of Pulau Ubin. Then comes Beach Walk along the path, by the…beach! Sailing Point Walk is right by the Changi Sailing Club and thereafter you’ve to maneuver stairs up along Cliff Walk. The Kelong Walk brings you right above the water, but what we love about this picturesque trail is the Sunset Walk that has an unobstructed view across the water to the west of the island. Sunsets here are breathtaking and aside from enthusiastic anglers perched along the sides of the boardwalk, avid photographers will also take their place to capture magnificent sunsets.
The Sunset Walk marks the end of the coastal walk, but you can’t exit the boardwalk from there. Instead, you’ve to retrace your steps back to the Kelong Walk where there is an exit point to Gosport Road or trudge back to Changi Village for a nice, well-deserved drink and meal with the whole fam. A roundtrip of the walk will take about 45 minutes to an hour or close to 2 hours if you’re on a leisurely stroll so make sure you keep yourself and the kids well-hydrated. Stroll along this eastern boardwalk and experience panoramic views of the west! The Changi Point Coastal Walk is a great way to get some much needed fresh air while spending quality time with the family.
Nature lovers, families with kids, and all who love to enjoy some sea breeze.
There's much wildlife to see along the boardwalk so time your walk and head there earlier to explore and end off with gorgeous views of the sunset. Do you know that there are 15 species of Heritage Trees in Changi, some centuries old and growing to as high as 28-meters?
