Singapore’s tallest outdoor play at the former Big Splash at East Coast Park is open! Boasting 4.5 hectares of several play areas catering to different age groups, this much-anticipated outdoor play area boasts magnificent slides, a water park with water jets and wading pools, plus a nature play garden for the younger ones! Just for the thrill-seekers and adrenaline junkies, take on the Play Tower deemed as Singapore’s tallest outdoor play feature, featuring a 4-storey vertical net play area and slides on the third and fourth floors.
Play Tower – Vertical Challenge and slides
Suitable for teens aged 13 years and above. The Vertical Challenge is open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 8am – 8pm.
This 16-meter, 4-storey high Play Tower houses the Vertical Challenge, a vertical net play area, and numerous rope-based obstacles which include stepping pods, hammocks, a grip wall as well as disc swings – wow! Challenge yourself by scaling up and scrambling through the nets and obstacles to reach the very top as fast as you can. Once at the peak, take in the panoramic view of East Coast Park and enjoy the sea breeze. Raring to go for another round? Take on the enclosed tube slides on the 3rd and 4th levels for a speedy descent and repeat again!
Water Play Area
Suitable for kids aged 5 to 12 years old. Open from Tuesdays to Sundays, 8am – 8pm.
Yup, every outdoor play space needs a water play area for kids to beat the heat and splash around! This inclusive water play area consists of wading pools connected by a stream with numerous water jets that light up at night. What’s more, this water play area is also wheelchair-accessible and the toilet is located close by which makes it convenient to wash up and change the kids.
Nature Playgarden
Suitable for kids aged 3 to 12 years old.
Interwoven into the landscape, this Nature Playgarden enables kids to play in an environment that’s totally immersed in nature. There are several themed sections to introduce kids to different habitats. Natural materials such as wood, sand, and gravel are used and biodiversity-attracting trees and shrubs are planted to pique kids’ curiosity. From the get-go in the first section, kids can explore bamboo tunnel trails and thereafter engage in imaginative play as they hop along the log trails and hide out at the tepees. The last trail leads to a sandpit that’s planted with native shrubs. Get the kids to spot various flowers and fruits, butterflies, and bees!
Outdoor Classroom by the Sea
The first-ever outdoor classroom by the sea for pre-schoolers is here and features a huge chalkboard with boulders, log stools, all facing out to sea! Pre-schools have the option to conduct their classes outdoors here and weave in with play in the nature play garden. They can even peep into an old hornbill’s nest!
