Time to get some fresh air and explore the extensive mangrove forest of the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve! First opened as a nature park in 1993, the 130-hectare reserve was renamed in 2002 and recognized as a site of international importance for migratory birds. Since then, the reserve has expanded to include approximately 200 hectares of mangroves, ponds, mudflats, and forests to house its massive flora and fauna population. With a Visitor Centre and many trails to boast, the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is not to be missed by nature lovers and family adventurers alike. Best part, it is easily accessible by public transport so you can don on lots of mozzie repellent, pack some snacks, haul the kids, and make it a full day of exploration! There’s much to see along its many trails and we’re sure that the kiddos will be thrilled at the many mudskippers, crabs, shellfish, water snakes, birds, spiders, monitor lizards, and even resident otters in the reserve. Download the brochure and map and you’re all set!
Any outdoor adventure with the family is a welcome treat and this Wetland Reserve is definitely not to be missed when you're looking to spend a meaningful day with the kids and nature.
