    How To Get To Shenzhen From Hong Kong

    Travel By Train, Car, Bus Or Ferry

    There are several ways to get to Shenzhen from Hong Kong, but by far the fastest is to travel by its new high-speed train, which takes about 20 minutes from West Kowloon Railway Station. Ticket prices vary from HK$246 for a Business Class seat (HK$123 for children) to HK$82 for second class tickets (HK$41 for children) and are very frequent throughout the day. Despite this, trains get filled up quite quickly, so better to book in advance.

    The cheapest way to get to Shenzhen from Hong Kong is to take the MTR or City Bus:

    Via Luohu Port:

    • Take the Hong Kong MTR East Rail Line or Bus No. 73K to Lo Wu Station.
    • Follow the signs to Hong Kong Customs.
    • Go through customs and cross the border to reach Shenzhen.

    Via Futian Port:

    • Take the Hong Kong MTR East Rail Line or Bus No. B1/75 to Lok Ma Chau Station.
    • Follow the signs to Futian Port.
    • Clear customs and cross the border to enter Shenzhen.

    Via Huanggang Port:

    • Take a direct coach from Wan Chai/Prince Edward to Shenzhen Bao'an Airport. The bus will stop at Huanggang Port.
    • Disembark at Huanggang Port and clear Hong Kong Customs to enter Shenzhen.

    There are options to travel to Shekou Port in Shenzhen by ferry, journey time varies between 30 to 60 minutes. Departing from HKIA Skypier Ferry Terminal.

    Another option is to travel by private car or taxi. These cars need to have permits to enter Shenzhen - journey time is approximately 60 minutes and costs upwards of HK$800.
