Cruise Control - Unique Boat Tours In Chiang Mai

Anantara Jao Ping River Cruise

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort is elevating its luxury cruise offerings with the introduction of the JAO Ping River Cruise.  Departing daily from the resort’s private pier on the Mae Ping River, this new experience offers guests a unique way to explore Chiang Mai, and for the whole family to learn about the customs and culture of Northern Thailand. Meaning “king of the river”, the JAO Ping fleet features two hand-carved teak boats: the Nam Jai, accommodating up to eight passengers, and the Nam Jit, with seating for up to 24 guests or 40 on a private charter.

The morning cruise on the Nam Jai takes you to Wat Ket Karam, one of Chiang Mai’s oldest communities, where you and the kids will tour the unique neighborhood of Buddhists, Christians, Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs living side by side and immerse yourself in the local culture.

The evening twilight cruise on the Nam Jai offers a scenic journey through the city, passing iconic landmarks and lush greenery, whilst enjoying free-flow canapés and drinks. On the Nam Jit, indulge in a regal afternoon tea experience on deck, or the dinner cruise, a lavish affair of royal Thai cuisine complemented by craft cocktails from the onboard mixologist.

Each boat offers four different itineraries, so check in with the hotel to learn more and book your ideal jaunt along the river.
